•  Maternity Photography

Maternity photography is for every mother that wants to create tangible memories that will take her back to that special moment in her life. Each pregnancy is a once in a lifetime occasion. Even if you are pregnant more than once, every pregnancy is different and special in its own way and this is reason enough to want to create memories that will last forever – memories that you will be able to relive later on or share with your children when they are older. A maternity photo shoot is a beautiful way to capture the essence of this fleeting time in your life.

I love to create beautiful portraits outdoors, filled with natural light or indoors, in the comfort of your own home, in an intimate environment. I aim to create flattering portraits that bring attention to your bump. However, I also love to include loved ones – your partner, older children or even your pet. I like to keep my images natural, but I will give you some guidance regarding posing to make sure we capture your best angles.

If the photoshoot is indoors, at your own home, I am happy to shoot artistic nudes or semi-nudes that will create truly stunning images, portraying pregnancy in its purest form. They also make beautiful black and white maternity shots.

Where will the maternity photo shoot take place?

As I mentioned above, it can be in any location of your choice, indoors, or outdoors. I cover South West London and Surrey but I am happy to travel.

What happens after the maternity photo shoot?

I will first make a selection of the best photos taken. Then, I will proceed to professionally edit all of them. These photos will be uploaded to your own personal online gallery which you will be able to share with friends and family. You will also be able to download all your photos directly from the site.

What is the best time to book a maternity photoshoot?

For maternity photography I recommend you book for when you will be between weeks 30-34. At this point your bump will show quite nicely. If you have a small bump you could aim for a little later. Please book with enough time in advance. If you wait until too close to that time you might find that most dates could be booked as people tend to book early.

What to wear for your maternity photo session

Maternity photography can be very versatile and this is a very personal choice. You could wear anything or nothing at all if that were your preference. The main thing is that it is something that you like and feel comfortable in. I like feminine flowy dresses or those that will accentuate your figure and bump quite nicely. Solid colours photograph better than patterns. Its good to take the location and season into consideration when choosing colours. For winter and fall I find that earthy tones, plum and dark reds are very suitable. For spring and summer pastels, whites and creamy colours work great. Boho style can work very well both indoors and outdoors. If you need some inspiration check out my Pinterest board.

How much would a maternity photography session cost?

I like to keep my pricing simple, no hidden fees so that you know in advance how much you will be paying and what you will get for it. Please go to Pricing for this information.

What's next?

Please get in touch! Once we have discussed the shoot and agreed on a date, I will require a signed contract and a deposit in order to confirm your booking. It is that simple!

Would you like to gift a Maternity Photo shoot to someone?

It would be an incredibly thoughtful gift for an expecting mum or parents! Please send me an email and we can make all the arrangements.
